Millhouse: A White Comedy is a 1971 documentary by Emile de Antonio following Richard Nixon's political career from his election to the House of Representatives in 1946 to his election as President of the United States in 1968. The title is a pun on Nixon's middle name, Milhous. It begins with Nixon's "last press conference" in 1962 after his loss in the race for Governor of California in which he famously said, "You won't have Dick Nixon to kick around anymore."; then a collage of videos show Nixon's trajectory from his House campaign to his involvement in the Alger Hiss case; his 1947 congressional election red-bating win over Democratic incumbant Jerry Voorhis; his 1950 senatorial election red-baiting win over incumbant Helen Gahagan Douglas; his 1952 election to the Vice Presidency; his complete full Checkers speech; his campaigns for the presidency in 1960, for Barry Goldwater's presidential candidacy in 1964, and his triumphant election as President in 1968 as the "New Nixon". The film featured interviews but no voice-over.

Richard Nixon, American lieutenant, lawyer, and politician, 37th President of the United States (January 9, 1913 - April 22, 1994) was born Richard Milhous Nixon in Yorba Linda, California. Richard M. Nixon served as vice president under Dwight D. Eisenhower from 1953-61, then made an unsuccessful run for the presidency, narrowly losing to John F. Kennedy. Nixon ran for governor of California in 1962 and lost. He then told reporters he was leaving politics. Real Audio 1:27 However, he re-emerged in 1968 and ran a successful presidential campaign against Hubert Humphrey. He won re-election by a landslide in 1972, but resigned two years later amid impeachment proceedings resulting from the Watergate scandal. Richard Nixon died at 81 years of age at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan, New York of cerebral edema (excess fluid in the brain) with his daughters at his bedside. He was buried beside his wife Pat on the grounds of the Richard Nixon Presidential Library And Museum in Yorba Linda, California.
